Tomatillo Salsa Verse Sauce

Tomatillo salsa verde sauce, or "green sauce" is a popular condiment used in Latin American cooking. Making it yourself at home is easy!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound tomatillos husked
  • 1 white onion peeled and sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves peeled
  • 1-2 jalapeno peppers optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1/2 lime juiced

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Arrange tomatillos, garlic cloves, and jalapenos on a baking tray. Drizzle with olive oil. Stir until ingredients are coated.
  • Roast for 12-15 minutes. Allow everything to cool slightly.
  • Pour everything into a food processor. Add the lime juice, then process until ingredients are combined and sauce is your desired consistency.
