Frozen mango margarita recipe is sweet and refreshing. Frozen mango chunks and combined with orange juice, fresh lime juice and orange liquor, then garnished with a sprinkle of warm cinnamon.
Last year, I was asked to speak at a women’s garden club meeting in another town. The club president read one of my food features in a local magazine and approached me about doing food demonstration on making smoothies. I reluctantly agreed, because like most folks, public speaking is not my favorite thing to do.
The closer I got to the date, the more nervous I got. When the week-of finally rolled around, I was outright dreading it. I loaded my ingredients and supplies in my car and drove with the music blaring to take my mind off what I was about to do.
I am my own worst enemy. I frequently psych myself up for no reason, because in reality, the presentation went off without a hitch and I drove home with a big sigh of relief that it was behind me. One of the favorite smoothies among the group was a mango dreamsicle smoothie. It was creamy with a hint of warm cinnamon.
So what do smoothies have to do with margaritas, you ask? Shortly after, I wondered what that the recipe would taste like if I tweaked it a bit and turned it into a cocktail. My mind works in weird ways, I know.
Normally, I like my margaritas on the rocks. But in this case, frozen adapts better. Fresh mangos are an ever-loving pain to cut up. In order to save my sanity, I bought a bag of frozen mango chunks from the grocery store (who needs that kind of negativity in their life?). The frozen fruit enhances the slushy consistency of the frozen mango margarita recipe.
Unlike traditional lime margaritas, these are juicy and sweet. I really like the contrast of flavors a little sprinkling of ground cinnamon brings. The next time you are in the mood for a frozen cocktail, give these a try. But be careful, they go down super easy.

I feel the same way about public speaking. I’m glad to hear that yours went really well. This mango margarita is so perfect for the weather we are having in Northern California. I need to make these the next time I make tacos!!
