The Cooking Bride’s 2011 Recipe Wrap-Up

Happy New Year!

I guess I don’t need to point out that things look a little different around here. After two and a half years of blogging, I decided it was time to upgrade to a “big girl” website and thought New Year’s Day was the perfect time to unveil it. I’m still working on a few kinks and no doubt this website will always be a work-in-progress. Please take a few minutes to check it out, tell me what you think, and let me know if you find any broken links or something that needs attention.

For the last two years, I’ve started out the new year with a top 10 most viewed recipes sort of thing. This year I decided to change it up a little. So without further ado, I bring you The Cooking Bride’s 2011 Recipe Wrap-Up:

1. Most Viewed
Mamaw’s Chicken and Dumplings

This recipe enjoyed a brief stint on WordPress’s Freshly Pressed back in September. And before anyone else leaves me a comment – yes, Mamaw used frozen dumplings. Not always. But the woman is 96. Give her a break. If you have time to make your own dumplings from scratch, good for you. But I have a full-time job and a small child to raise. Frozen it is.

2. Most Pinned
Bourbon Chicken Teriyaki

I was bound and determined not to let a greasy spoon in the food court at the mall outdo me. So I made it my mission to find a recipe comparable to the dish The Husband was so fond of. Judging from the number of times this recipe has been pinned, a lot of you have been looking too.

3. Most Downloaded
Cheddar Bacon Muffins

Up until the chicken and dumplings hit Freshly Pressed, this was my most popular recipe. These little muffins are so addictive that it’s hard to eat just one.

4. Most Stumbled
Tomato and Thyme Soup with Polenta Dumplings

Best tomato soup I have ever tasted. I have made this recipe at least four more times since I posted the recipe back in October and it has officially been elevated to family favorite status.

5. Most Tweeted
Velvety Chocolate Butter Pecan Pie

This is what happens when pecan pie and chocolate pie fall in love and have a baby. Even if you have never had success making a traditional pecan pie (like me), give this one a try.

  1. All of these look amazing, as does the new site. Yum! I want to be eating those chicken and dumplings right now…

  2. The website looks great! And I need to go and pin a few of these recipes myself!

  3. The new design looks amazing!

Several of these (ok.. all of them!) I want to try! Definitely want to give the Bourbon Chicken a try, my husband believes he doesn’t like chinese food and I’m prepared to show him he just hasn’t had the right kind before!
